At Adventure Community Church we believe that Jesus came to give us –in His own words- “life to the full”. However, we have found that few believers are experiencing that LIFE. We believe that four critical streams flow together to produce that LIFE. If a follower of Christ is experiencing only one or two their experience of “life to the full” will be elusive. These streams are “Walking with God”, “Spiritual Warfare”, “Healing of the broken hearted”, and “True Community”.
A. Walking With God
We believe that God created you for intimacy with Him and others. We believe that true intimacy with God is available here on earth and that walking with God is the only way to survive the enemy’s assault and the only way to experience the true LIFE that Christ offers. (Eph. 6:18, Phil. 3:10, John 15:15, Gal. 5:25)
We believe that there is an enemy who intends to steal, kill and destroy God’s beloved, His bride. We believe that there has been an assault on you all your life to create distrust in God’s leadership, a false identity for yourself, and a false hope for life apart from God. We believe that we exist in a world at spiritual war and the ground that the warring parties seek to possess is your heart. We believe that for a follower of Christ to become who he was meant to be, he will have to learn to fight the enemy. (Eph. 6:12, 1 Pet. 5:8, 1 John 5:19)
We believe that Jesus came to restore us. We believe that once we were glorious beings un-fallen image-bearer of the Majestic One. We believe that the enemy of our souls led us to doubt God’s heart and leadership. And that sin produced shame, autonomy. We have a brokenness that needs to be healed, a glory that God intends to restore, so He sent his son to heal us, set us free and give us the identity that we were meant to have. (1 John 3:1-2, Isa 61, Rom 7-8, 2 Cor. 3:15-18, Gal. 5:1)
We were made in the image of a Group, the Trinity. Therefore, we need one another; we were never intended to operate alone. Every person longs to be truly known and to experience true connection with others. Every person is a unique and necessary part of this church. The church is likened to a body with many parts, only together can we run. (Eph. 4, 1 Cor. 12, Eph 5:32)
