Garat Grant – Sr. High Youth Pastor

Background: Garat first began attending Adventure as a high school student in 2009. Through Adventure’s youth ministry, Garat felt called to follow God into full-time ministry as a junior in high school. He became a youth intern in 2013 working first with Jr. High and transitioning to Sr. High in 2014. Following BJ Hillabush’s transition to lead pastor in 2015, Garat was offered the position of Sr. High Youth Pastor in January of 2016.

Responsibilities: As a youth pastor, Garat spends most of his time hanging out and discipling the high school age students of Adventure. He and his team of leaders are responsible for the youth program on Wednesday nights, which includes speaking, games, events, small groups and community service projects. He and Zac team up together to teach both the Jr. High and Sr. High students on Sunday mornings.

Family: Garat has been married to his high school sweetheart Kelsey since 2014, and is loving every minute of it. They don’t have any kids yet, but both he and Kelsey want to have a big family and plan on pursuing international adoption in the future. Currently they have one fluffy cat named Crosby that they share their house with.

Other interests: Garat is also a full time graduate student at Northwest University where he is pursuing a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. He loves to both watch and play most sports, football, tennis, and ultimate Frisbee being his favorites. He also enjoys bow hunting, working on cars, one-on-one conversations and enjoying time with his best friends.
